Trans* Inclusion training a success

News, What's Up

The Trans* Inclusion training for service providers in Peel, a special workshop hosted as a part of Pride Week in Peel 2014, focused on providing tangible tips and best practices for creating safer, more positive spaces for gender variant, gender non-conforming and trans* identified folks living in Peel and offered an overview of the Ontario Human Rights Code on Gender Identity and Gender Expression.

The training, held last Thursday at the Unitarian Congregation of Mississauga, had a great turn out and we’re very happy to see that a number of persons and organizations are invested in doing the work of better serving all members of the community, particularly those who are trans* identified and have difficulty accessing space and services due to the discrimination and violence they often face.

Thanks to all those who came out and those who were involved in putting this workshop together.

If you are interested in building your organization’s capacity to better service the needs of trans* clients, feel free to book a workshop by contacting Peel Transitions’ Training Coordinator Hisayo Horie at
