Trans* Inclusion for Service Providers in Peel
July 17, 10am – 2pm
Unitarian Congregation in Mississauga
84 South Service Rd., Mississauga ON
On April 14th, the Ontario Human Rights Code on Gender Identity and Gender Expression was released. Under the Code, people are protected from discrimination and harassment because of gender identity and expression in employment, housing, facilities and services, contract and membership in unions, trades or professional association. In this workshop, we hope participants will take away a clearer understanding of what trans* inclusion means and why it is important. We will cover a wide range of trans* inclusion issues using the Code as a guideline. Gather tangible tips and action items for building capacity for you and/or your organization.
The Unitarian Congregation in Mississauga is a wheel chair accessible space with all gender washrooms. Food will also be provided. Please note there will be a Positive Space Coalition of Peel networking meeting after the training, all are welcome to attend.
This free event is a part of Pride Week in Peel 2014, visit prideweekinpeel.ca for more.
